After the first attempt to start Fresen, Bonar and Dennis Faulkner all got together in turn one. Kory Kugan got caught up in the incident and left the track. The next attempt was almost completed but as the group came out of turn four Scott Johnson and Faulkner got together, sending Faulkner nearly head on into the wall. A small fire set under Faulkner’s hood and he was pulled out of the car, short of breath. He was fine later. Johnson, Faulkner, Steve Gerdts and Mark Rorvik all left the track this time. The race was down to three cars. Fresen, Bonar and Mitchell Woods. The three cars raced for four laps with Bonar winning and Woods and Fresen close behind him. Dennis Faulkner and Mike Carlson were both unable to start the main event. Kory Kugan led the first lap of the main event before Steve Gerdts took over on lap two. Gerdts slowed on lap six giving Marshall Hallett just enough time to take the lead on lap six. Eric Lee, David Tresenriter and Amanda Easley all got around Gerdts on lap 10, moving him back to fifth. David Tresenriter took over second place on lap 14. A caution was thrown before the next lap when Amanda Easley spun. Another caution was thrown after the green flew when Steve Gerdts spun on the backstretch. The rest of the race ran green. Hallett continued to lead until lap 25 when Tresenriter made a very clean pass on him. Eric Lee moved into second on lap 28. Tresenriter took the checkered for his third win of the season. Eric Lee finished second with Marshall Hallett in third. Zach Franklin was fourth, Bobby Moore was fifth and Steve Woods finished sixth. Amanda Easley, Dan Walker, Scott Johnson and Mark Rorvik completed the top ten. Tony Bartlotti clocked in fastest for the Cut Rate Auto Parts Economy 4-Cylinders. Tim Garske was the only qualifier not able to make it to the main event. Richard Smith started on the front row with Mike Hayne. Smith took the lead with Hayne in second. Hayne went very high on the track on lap five, dropping him back to sixth. By lap seven Tony Bartlotti had moved himself up to second place from his ninth place starting position. Bartlotti took the lead on lap 10 with a nice outside pass on the backstretch. Bartlotti was flying and his lead just kept growing and growing. A caution was thrown on lap 15 when Tom Keehan got into Floyd Hayne, spinning him. Hayne collected Jack Allen and Freeman Pruitt when they had no where to go. Pruitt and Allen both left the track. Another caution was thrown a lap later when Richard Smith’s tire came off in turn two. Todd VanDiest was running second when the green flew again but Doug Shaffer took the spot on lap 19. The last 16 laps ran very smooth with Bartlotti taking with win with Doug Shaffer right on his bumper. Todd VanDiest was third, Floyd Hayne was fourth and Dwayne Hardin was fifth. Then again on the next lap a caution was thrown when John Grosvenor and Wayne Dillon got together after running in second and third. Ted Mundy, trying to avoid the mess, hit the wall.
