BENNETT HOPEFUL FOR TRI-CITIES

With a short two week break for the Northwest Series, Travis Bennett is eager to get back behind the wheel of the #33 Bowmans Electro Painting/Zebs Truck Stop/Knudson Lumber Chevrolet as he looks to claim his first victory on the Elite Series. Bennett of Ellensburg, WA. has been competing at Irwindale Speedway the past two weekends and brought home a 5th place finish and a 3rd place finish for the Grape King/Asia Express team based out of Bakersfield, CA.

"It was a great opportunity given to me by Bob Casaro and Gary Collins and I cant thank them enough. I gained a lot of experience and knowledge that will hopefully help me out with my future endeavors at Irwindale Speedway," said Bennett. "There is no track like Irwindale up here in the Northwest so it was a big help. Those guys race hard down there and the late models are very much like tour cars. I really enjoyed the competition."

Now back up in the Northwest, Bennett is focused on Tri-City raceway and improving on last times results. "Our first race there this year we finished 2nd and I don't think it's out of the question to just improve that finish by one!"

With only 3 races remaining on the schedule, everyone is clearly focused on one thing: the points title. The chase is getting close as Bennett sits 3rd in points, one point behind the 2nd slot. "I'm looking forward to this weekend at Tri-Cities. It's one of my favorite tracks and with the team effort here on this DS Racing team, I know we will have a successful weekend."
