BENNETT WRAPS UP DREAM SEASONTravis Bennett's rookie season was more than most expected, even Travis himself. The DS Racing team started the 2004 season with 2 realistic goals: Capturing the Rookie of the year title and finishing top 10 in points in order to secure a spot in the Toyota All-Star showdown at Irwindale Speedway. Both goals were met far beyond expectation. Going in to the season championship race at Wenatchee Valley Super Oval, the #33 Bowmans Electro Painting/Zebs Truck Stop-Speedway Cafe/Knudson Lumber Chevrolet was sitting 2nd in points only 6 behind leader Garrett Evans. Working hard in the practice sessions, the DS racing crew put a great car underneath Travis allowing him to go for the Championship. Qualifying 10th Travis had to start a little farther back than expected but there were no worries. Travis started the race on the outside of row 5 and quickly moved to the front where he would remain all night ultimately finishing 4th in the race and losing the championship to Jeff Jefferson by one point.

"Im just ecstatic to have been this successful in my rookie year," said Bennett. "Prior to the season I honestly never thought we would have been where we were going into the championship race tonight. I know consistency is the key to success and we instilled that in our team throughout the year. Along with that I think I was a much better driver this year than I have ever been which added into our successful formula."

Many people are to thank for the tremendous season had by the #33 team. "There is just so many people that are a part of this. My car owner Donny Scriver. My crew that worked on the car during the week and at the track. My sponsors Bowmans Electro Painting, Zebs Truck Stop-Speedway Cafe, Knudson Lumber, A 1 Petroleum, OST and of course all of my family, friends and fans that were at the races supporting me. Without all of these people, this season wouldn't have been possible."

Although the Northwest Tour season is over, the racing season is far from over as Travis prepares for the Toyota All-star Showdown at Irwindale Speedway November 11-13. "I've raced a late model there a couple of times earlier this year and I also had a few full days of testing which was invaluable to me. The late models there are identical to tour cars just a little bit of difference in the motors. I feel very well prepared for this race and I cant wait to get down there!" says the eager Bennett.

DS Racing thanks Bowmans Electro Painting, Zebs Truck Stop-Speedway Cafe, Knudson Lumber, A 1 Petroleum, the crew, family, friends and all the fans who supported the #33 throughout the 2004 season. TravisBennett.com is currently in the works and will be released shortly.####
