NORTHWEST NOTES OF INTEREST FOLLOWING WENATCHEERaybestos Brakes Northwest Series, NASCAR Touring Division
Source: NASCAR Public Relations
The win moved Tom Pinkowsky from 12th to 7th in the points race. Every car in the field broke the old track record set in 1990 by John Dillon. The Manufacturers Championship is the tightest in recent memory. After 12 of 15 races, Chevrolet and Pontiac are tied with 6 wins and 88 points. Tom Pinkowsky has four Winston Racing Series championships under his belt. He has three track titles at Portland Speedway and one at South Sound Speedway. A blown engine may have cut short Joe Constance's bid for a series title. The resulting 21st -place finish dropped him to fourth in the standings, 151 points behind points leader Pete Harding. Before the Evans Lease 125, Constance had made his way into the top-three in points with consistent finishes and by completing the most laps on the series.
