The Manufacturers Championship is the tightest in recent memory. After 12 of 15 races, Chevrolet and Pontiac are tied with 6 wins and 88 points.

Tom Pinkowsky has four Winston Racing Series championships under his belt. He has three track titles at Portland Speedway and one at South Sound Speedway.

A blown engine may have cut short Joe Constance's bid for a series title. The resulting 21st -place finish dropped him to fourth in the standings, 151 points behind points leader Pete Harding. Before the Evans Lease 125, Constance had made his way into the top-three in points with consistent finishes and by completing the most laps on the series.
