NEAR SWEEP FOR WILSON AT OUTLAW SPEEDWAY

Only fast time eluded Conrad Wilson as the Reno racer drove his Bare Chassis to victory in the Open Outlaw main event Saturday night at Outlaw Speedway. He was second fastest, but won the dash and his heat prior to the feature win. He has climbed to third in points, just 11 behind leader Stuart Goehring, who ran third. The 250 point leader Jeff Rogers won their main event after posting fast time and winning the dash. After second place runs in the first three events of the night, Kyle Dargert from Carson City drove his QRC chassis to victory in the 125 main, but stands third in points behind feature runnerup Cameron Bellamy. Tom Purcell from Carson City beat fellow resident and point runnerup Danny Marcin to protect his point lead in the Box Stock action. A third in his heat was the only mar to Purcell’s night as he posted fast time and won the dash.

The 500 cc Open Outlaw machines drew the night’s largest field with 11 in action. Nick Rogers from Fernley posted fast time at 10.698 to easily outdistance the 10.991 effort of Wilson. Point leader Goehring was fourth fast behind Don Jackson. Wilson won the dash ahead of Rogers and D Jackson. Wilson and Rogers were the heat winners. In the main, Bare Chassis took four of the top five spots with only third place Goehring in a QRC. Wilson and Rogers ran 1-2 with Cheyene Jackson and D Jackson. Goehring’s point lead is 9 over C Jackson with Wilson 11 back and D Jackson 24 behind.

C Jackson is also the point runnerup in the 250’s as J Rogers posted fast time at 11.403 to his 11.448 lap. Jim Yager was also in the 11’s as four karts raced. Rogers won the dash and Yager the heat race. J Rogers also runs a Bare Chassis and he won the main ahead of Yager, Chris Wright and C Jackson. J Rogers’ point lead is 14 over C Jackson and 36 ahead of Yager.

The 125’s also had a four kart entry, but fast timer Cameron Bellamy was very fast in his Bare Chassis with a 10.992 lap as Dargert ran 11.114. Dargert was second to Bellamy in the dash and second to Eric Norgrove in the heat. In the main, Dargert turned the tables and won with Bellamy second over Norgrove and Chad Vance. Bellamy’s point lead is 19 over Norgrove and 21 ahead of Dargert.

The Box Stocks had 9 cars in action with Purcell posting fast time honors with his 12.208 lap as Marcin ran 12.540. The fastest 7 qualifiers were all in teh 12’s. Purcell and Marcin were also 1-2 in the dash. Marcin won his heat in his Coyote chassis, but Purcell settled for third in his that was won by Mitchell Bellamy’s QRC. Purcell also runs a QRC and he won the main with Marcin second ahead of Nathan Buffa, Bellamy and Jordan Dargert. Purcell holds a 25 point lead over Marcin with Bellamy 50 behind in third. Bellamy is just 4 points ahead of Buffa.
