SCRIBELLITO AND ROBINSON TAKE VENTURA DWARF CAR ACTION

Ventura, CA -- CDCRA Pro Division dwarf car point leader Jim Scribellito enjoyed a perfect night at Ventura Raceway Saturday as he wheeled to wins in both his heat race and the 20 lap feature. Bob Brown Jr continued his improved efforts with a second place run ahead of another hot driver, Brent Stevens. Don Robinson duplicated Scribellito's night with wins in the first heat race and the 20 lap feature for the Senior Division. Ventura Raceway specialist Mike Sweeney chased Robinson to his win with defending champion Gary Lynch third.

There were 17 cars in the pits for the Pro Division and Scribellito won heat 1 with Stevens second ahead of Bill VanPraag. In the second heat, point runnerup Angel Figueroa won with Brown second ahead of Roger Ganzer. Rob Brown flipped wildily in the heat action in the former Rob Anderson driven championship mount, but made repairs and started the 20 lap feature. Both James Phillips and Carl Behmer were feature scratches to leave a 15 car lineup for the 20 lapper. The top four from the heat action finished 1-2-3-4 with Scribellito winning ahead of Brown, Stevens and Figueroa. Chuck Lippert ran fifth over VanPraag, Bob Lee, Matt Tomlinson and Loren Bradbury.

In a rare development, the Senior Division actually was larger than the Pro count with 18 cars. Robinson won the first heat with Jim Stutzman second over Lynch. Red hot Gary Ebeling won heat 2 with Mike VanAcker second ahead of Ed Niedzwiecki. Robinson outraced Sweeney to win the 20 lap feature with Lynch third ahead of Gordon Brand, VanAcker, Niedzwiecki, Stutzman and Gary Conditt as Ebeling ran 10th. Ron Bach was disqualified from his night's efforts.
