ANOTHER CLEAN SWEEP FOR ROBINSON AT CAR

Casa Grande, AZ -- Runaway Budweiser Street Stock point leader Ted Robinson collected another feature win Saturday night at Central Arizona Raceway and did it in clean sweep fashion as he also won his heat race. William Lacy and Jody Henderson chased him across the finish line. The busy Henderson was doing his usual double duty and he won the factory stock main event ahead of Dana Boatwright and Ricky Cook. After winning his heat race and placing third in the dash, Brandon George raced to a win in the Arizona Mini Sprint feature race ahead of dash winner Dustin Cormany and Danny Mathus. A rare four division format found Jesse Chinn outracing Kevin Hickson in the Arizona Dwarf Car main event. With the four classes, all four features were run at the 15 lap length.

The street stocks had a 14 car turnout and Robinson won the first heat ahead of Steve Nelson and Lacy. Larry Brigner captured heat 2 in front of Henderson and Tommy Thompson. Battling Henderson for second in points, Brandon Garner lost ground when he was forced to scratch from the feature race. Robinson got that win ahead of Lacy, Henderson, Mike Brigner, Michael Harrison, Mike Harris and Tom Hussak. The factory stocks split 21 cars into a pair of heat races with Henderson taking the first ahead of Tommy Hussak III and E J Jones. Jack Maynard won heat 2 over Kim Nanni and point leader David Rhone. In the feature action, it was Henderson on top of Dana Boatwright, Ricky Cook, Mike Sopha, Hussak III, Rhone, Lance Schugg, Steven Ashcraft and Mark Elliott.

The mini sprints split 17 cars into three heat races. Cormany won the first ahead of Danny Mathus and Dennis Parks. Kiley Fellars took heat 2 ahead of Kurt Stults with George outraced Tony Osuch and Dan Goodman in heat 3. Cormany, D Mathus and George were 1-2-3 in the dash. George pocketed the feature win ahead of Cormany, D Mathus, Parks, Fellars, Joey Strobel, Stults, Don Kessler and Tim Ogle. Twenty of the dwarf cars survived the heat action to line up for their 15 lap feature. Jerry Larrabee had won heat 1 over Dean Riggs and Chinn. Tony Martin returned to his dwarf car roots and won heat 2 over Melvin Spaght and Paul Ross. Shawn Arnold won heat 3 ahead of Dan Yirku and Doug Borders. Chinn was the feature winner ahead of Hickson, Jeff Adams, Clayton Echols, Victor Pfluger, Arnold, Brandon Echols, Dan Yirku and Kenny Hodgkins.

On June 19, the BRA Modifieds return to action and they will be joined by the street stocks, factory stocks and mechanic's race. All males will be admitted free on Fathers Day weekend. The June 26 race will be the finale before the track takes it's normal summer break for the months of July and August.
