Red Bluff, CA -- After a sixth place heat finish forced him to battle from the C Main, winged sprint car champion Sean Becker thrilled the NAPA Night crowd as he drove from 13th starting to win Saturday night’s 25 lap Open Outlaw Kart A Main as the Red Bluff Winter Indoor Season resumed after two dark weekends. S Becker won that C Main and placed third in the B Main to earn his back row starting spot for the 25 lapper. Another sprint car racer Beau Perkins was second in the 25 lap A Main ahead of Cody Braund. Tyler McCain protected his narrow point lead with a fifth place run behind Brandon Aldred after earlier timing in second quick. Having convinced her crew chief father Kelly to make an engine change, Nevada’s Mackena Bell enjoyed a big night as she won her heat race and then battled from fifth get the Open Intermediate 20 lap A Main win. M Bell was be doing her summer racing in the area also as the closure of the Carson City track will see her running the Legend Car class in Anderson starting in March. After winning the B Main, Kyle Larson battled from 10th to get second, just 1/3 of a second behind the winner. Heat winner Jake Park was third. The only flaw to Trevor Tennison’s night was timing in sixth fast in the Intermediate action. He then won the dash, his heat and the 25 lap main event. Tennison was nearly four seconds ahead of point leader Brian Southers at the checkered flag. Colby Copeland started the night just 2 points back of Southers in the three way track title duel and ran third in the feature ahead of heat winner Thomas Bruckenstein. Bruckenstein was only 8 points out of first when the night started. Having made a very successful Intermediate debut at Lakeport the previous weekend, Cameron Bartlett returned to his normal Box Stock ride and won their 25 lap feature after earlier winning his heat race. The Yuba City racer was 7th quick. Nevada’s Kellcy Bell maintained her narrow point lead with 2nd quick time, a third in the dash, a second in her heat and another runnerup finish in the 25 lapper. Dash winner Tyler Seavey placed third. K Bell was just 2 points up on Casey McClain and five ahead of Bartlett starting the night. McClain ran fifth in the feature behind Nevada’s Tanner Thorson. After only timing in 11th quick, Richie Carrel won both his heat and the 25 lap feature for the Beginner Box Stocks. He had just an 11 point lead over Chase Majdic starting the night. Jesse James Colwell finished a career best second in the 25 lapper and Bryce Acquistapace edged out Majdic for third. Majdic and Acquistapace had to come from the fifth row after their 1-2 run in the B Main. Paul Baker was again the F200 feature winner as he finished that 15 lapper 1.5 seconds ahead of championship duelers Braedon Enos and Alyssa Hogan. Hogan had earlier set fast time. P Baker was second quick.

Justin Grant was quickest of the 44 Open Outlaws as he ran a 8.370 lap. That easily paced the 8.558 of T McCain. Oregon’s Jason Mendenhall ranked third at 8.627 and the dash field was rounded out by Brent Hamilton, John Michael Bunch and Steven Gannon. Bunch won the dash by a half second over Gannon as Hamilton ran third. The usual five heat format only transfers the top two finishers from each into the A Main. Perkins was 16th quick and won the first heat over Gannon and Reyna Krueger. 12th quick Aldred won heat 2 over T McCain and Eureka’s Troy Combs. A tight finish in heat 3 found winner David Tarter just ¼ second ahead of Mendenhall as championship hopeful Brett Miller settled for third, just 1/3 second behind the winner. Hamilton impressed with his heat four win ahead of 24th quick Braund and Garret Morton. S Becker ran sixth in this event after timing in 19th quick. Pavement late model star Ryan Foster won heat 5 ahead of Bunch and Shawn Amos. Tyler Wolf started the night just four points back of T McCain, but timed in 13th and struggled in his heat race. Wolf did capture the D Main ahead of Tyler Ritcheson and Brian McCain. S Becker was forced to race in the C Main and he won that race ahead of 7th quick Bubba Hill, B McCain and Wolf. Just missing the transfer up was fast timer Grant and Ritcheson. The pressure filled B Main fills those final four starting slots in the 25 lap A Main. Amos won the B Main ahead of B Miller, S Becker and Wolf, who again gained the last transfer. Just missing the move up were T Combs and B Hill. Tarter was out on lap 11 and Foster retired on lap 15, but the other dozen starters all finished. Braund ran third ahead of Aldred and T McCain. B Miller managed a sixth ahead of Hamilton, the busy Wolf and Mendenhall. The second fastest feature lap was a 9.164 by Perkins and Tarter had a 9.174 before retiring.

M Bell was just ½ second ahead of Moore at the checkered flag in heat 2 with 17th quick Michael Forslund getting third. Silverman won heat 3 over Nevada’s Daniel Thorson and Robert Marcos. A fourth in his heat forced Larson to race in the B Main and he won that ahead of back of the pack starter Keith Bloom Jr and Matthew Davis. Tyler Reddick was coming off a couple impressive Lakeport runs and placed fourth at 8.684. Southers ranked fifth ahead of Tennison as Oregon’s Seth Nunes just missed the dash in 7th. Perpetual Trophy Night winner R J Johnson was 8th quick. Tennison had a 8.754 best lap in his dash win over Southers and C Copeland. Since this division is allowed a 16 kart A Main, the three heat races transfer the top four in each.
