Firebird International Raceway

In 1983 Charlie Allen, Dick Scott and Bill Guptill unveiled what would become the most diverse and exciting motorsports facility in the world. Since that time, more than millions of visitors have passed through the gates of Firebird International Raceway each year in Chandler, Arizona. Firebird Raceway is a proud member of the Gila River Indian Community. Annual Events: • Checker Schuck’s Kragen/NHRA Drag Racing has been running down the quarter mile track since first opening in 1983. Each year the “Nationals” includes 3 days of record breaking racing and competition in front of crowds topping 35,000 people each day. • IHBA Coors Light Championship Drag Boat Racing has raced the liquid quarter mile since 1990 and has grown from 3 boat entrants to a field of over 80 entrants. A semi-pro class has been added to the event to meet the demands of this fast paced and grown up sport. Racers and spectators from across the country fill the lakeside grandstands and vendor midway for 3 days of liquid speed. • Bug-O-Rama Rallys, Friday Night Drags, Monster Trucks, Jet Cars, Robosaurus and Fun Ford Weekend mark the calendar at Firebird each year and offer racers, spectators, and partners a unique motorsports experience.
