Kern County's New Home to NASCAR

A high-banked .5-mile D-shaped track will be built at Interstate 5 and Highway 43. The new track will be a joint venture between the Destefani Family and the Collins Family. It will feature 13 degrees of banking in the corners, the same as Mesa Marin Raceway, 8 degree banking on the front stretch and 6 degrees of banking on the backstretch. They will break ground in March 2006 with a planned opening in 2007.

It is being built for anything with wheels. In addition to the .5-mile a .25-mile infield track will be built along with a dragstrip adjacent to it. Tunnel access will provide an easy in and out for the competitors. There will be 12 suites for sponsor/corporate using that are being leased out now.
